Business Insurance - 8 Vauxhall models eligible to go Congestion Charge-free

Business car insurance seekers may be keen to note that eight Vauxhall Corsa ecoFLEX models are now eligible to go Congestion Charge-free, as from yesterday (January 4th).

This is due to the implementation of London's Greener Vehicle Discount (GVD) - enabling Euro 5-compliant motors that emit 100 g/km of CO2 or less to travel around the Big Smoke without incurring the fee - which has replaced the Alternative Fuel Discount.

And this could be ideal for companies based in London who are looking for a new fleet of motors to purchase.

Drivers commuting into the City in the new Vauxhall Corsa ecoFLEX can save up to £60 each week, according to the brand.

In addition, the manufacturer welcomed the views of the mayor of London Boris Johnson that electric vehicles will also be entitled to GVD, meaning its Ampera - which is set to be available for less than £30,000 because of the government's plug-in fuel grant - will be eligible.
