Business Insurance - Business car insurance seekers may welcome Nissan LEAF arrival

Business car insurance buyers might be glad to hear the first shipment of Nissan LEAF motors to the UK is set to arrive in the north-east today (February 3rd).

The motor - which won the 2011 European Car of the Year award - has been described as the world's first affordable all-electric motor.

Simon Thomas, senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Nissan International SA, Nissan's European headquarters, stated today is a landmark occasion for both the brand and the European car market, adding the automobile is being transported on the manufacturer's energy-saving carrier - City St Petersburg.

He added: "The Nissan LEAF is a genuine alternative to petrol and diesel cars in terms of style, features, safety, performance and handling."

Last month, the vehicle won the What Car? Ultra Low Carbon accolade at the magazine's Car of the Year awards, with the publication stating it is one of the most exciting cars they have tested.
