Business Insurance - Mercedes-Benz reports record-breaking month

Vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has announced its latest figures highlight a record-breaking performance in August.

The company saw its market share improve to 4.5 per cent in the UK - its highest ever level - while record registrations of 56,162 vehicles have been achieved for the year so far, up by 12.5 per cent annually.

Furthermore, AMG brand registrations witnessed growth of 128.6 per cent for the month in comparison to August 2011 and were up by 148.3 per cent for the year.

Marcus Breitschwerdt, president and chief executive officer of Mercedes-Benz UK, commented: "It is great to see so many of our products leading their market segments. We are really pleased that the C-Class is in the top ten selling models [for the] year to date."

Earlier this year, the vehicle manufacturer announced an upgrade to its C-Class model for 2013, delivering improved fuel efficiency and better residual values.

The new package is to relate to the Saloon, Estate, Executive SE, AMG Sport and AMG Sport Plus brands.
