Styled by iconic body work studio, Pininfarina, the Ferrari 308 GTB was first seen at the Paris Motor Show in 1975

A notable aspect of these early Ferrari 308 GTB cars, as highlighted by Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_308_GTB/GTS, was that its bodywork was entirely made of glass reinforced plastic so it was light weight (just 2,315 lb).

However, by 1977, the 308 reverted to steel bodies. Also in 1977, the Targa 308 GTS was introduced.

In all, there were 3219 GTS and 2897 GTBs made from 1975 to 1980 but only 808 of the fibreglass versions were made.

In 2004, Sports Car International https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_Car_International named this car No 5 on their list of Top Sports Cars of the 1970s, helped no doubt by its starring role in eight seasons of the hit TV series Magnum PI.
