Grand prix model may attract attention of classic car insurance customers

A grand prix model going under the hammer may attract the attention of numerous classic insurance customers, it has been suggested.

Bonhams is holding its Retromobile sale in Paris on January 23rd next year and the company revealed a 1926/27 1.5-litre supercharged straight-eight Talbot-Darracq will be on offer to the highest bidder.

It predicted the antique auto will be one of the highlights of the show, as it set new standards when it was first built.

The group explained the car has a 1,488 cc capacity and is able to produce some 160 bhp.

"One of the most charismatic, exciting and advanced grand prix cars of the so-called roaring twenties, this immaculately restored Talbot-Darracq is sure to turn heads," it predicted.

The historic motor has been valued at between €400,000 (£360,417) and €600,000.
