Jaguar to have double celebration for E-Type's 50th

Jaguar is set to have a double celebration to toast the 50th anniversary of the E-Type.

The brand will be honouring the classic car at the 2011 Festival of Speed - which takes place between July 1st and the 3rd - as well as the Goodwood Revival, which runs from September 16th to the 18th.

And the Goodwood Revival celebrations will tie in well with the brand's presence at the event, as on the Saturday there is a feature race entitled the Fordwater Trophy that only E-Types are allowed to compete in.

Goodwood Festival's Lord March said he is delighted the spectacle is able to honour the manufacturer, but particularly the E-Type.

He added: "Goodwood and Jaguar have always enjoyed a very close relationship and it is entirely fitting that they should choose to celebrate these two very special anniversaries with us."

Last year, Lord March stated the E-Type-only race would be one of the "truly special" events to take place at the Revival.
