Viva Valencia event to raise money for Riders for Health

Bike insurance policyholders may be flocking to the Ace Cafe in London to get a glimpse of the participants in an upcoming charity ride in aid of Riders for Health, which is set to take place at the end of this month.

The Viva Valencia! event will be carried out by Red Dwarf star Danny John-Jules, BBC MotoGP presenter Matt Roberts and owner of the first UK Yamaha dealership Steve Keys to raise money for health workers in Africa.

Dedicated to providing and maintaining reliable motorcycles for use in remote parts of the continent, the charity's primary aim is to ensure people are given access to regular health care.

The trio of riders will be sporting pink Arai helmets and leathers to match their pink Yamaha R1 motorcycles to make it easier for spectators to spot them as they leave the Ace Cafe on October 30th.

Roberts will ride the Yamaha R1 MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo rode on his parade lap at the 2010 Isle of Man TT during the charity trip, which will see the motorists travel on a route in the Champagne region, Beaujolais, Montpellier and Barcelona.

Upon their arrival in Valencia, the three riders will meet up with local supporters of Riders for Health and lead them into the circuit for the Spanish version of Day of Champions.

Set to be filmed by KMBA productions, the journey should hopefully see John-Jules, Roberts and Mr Keys pick up some exclusive items en route that will be auctioned off to raise money for the worthy cause.

The Lorenzo R1, which features a one-off paint scheme and is signed by the world champion himself, will be auctioned off at the upcoming Motorcycle Live event on November 20th.

Earlier this year, Arai announced the launch of its new Chaser-V helmet to be sold at UK importer 2724UK. The headgear is constructed with a super fibre laminate shell and offers motorists improved vision with its wider aperture.
